My Hero Academia is a popular manga and anime series about kids learning to be superheroes and fighting villains, set in a world where almost everyone is born with a “Quirk” or superpower. It has quite a cast of delightful and unique characters, each with their own Quirks and personalities.

Some of our favorite characters include:

1. Izuku Midoriya/Deku

The main protagonist of this series, Deku is one of the very few kids who was born without a Quirk. However, that did not stop him from aiming to be a superhero. He idolized Pro Hero All Might, analyzed the different fighting styles of superheroes and villains in a notebook, and hoped for the impossible. When he risked his life to save Bakugo from a villain, All Might noticed the kid and decided to bestow his Quirk upon Deku, finally allowing him to live his dream and enroll at UA, the premier school for training future heroes.

2. Katsuki Bakugo/ Kacchan

Kacchan and Deku have always been childhood rivals. Blessed with a powerful Quirk, Bakugo has always been fierce and violent, taking every opportunity to hone his talents and be the best. However, when he enrolls at UA, he is disliked by his peers for his arrogance and selfishness, until he slowly learns to mend his ways.

3. Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki is the son of pro-hero Endeavour, and his Quirks include both the powers of fire and ice. However, having grown up in an abusive household, he shares an uneasy relationship with his father and has a hard time accepting both his superpowers.

4. Ochaco Uraraka

A cheerful young girl whose Quirk is Zero Gravity, Uraraka wanted to be a superhero so that she can use her earnings to help her parents live a comfortable life. A close friend of Deku, she gradually develops romantic feelings for him.

5. Toshinori Yagi / All Might

A Pro Hero, All Might is widely regarded as the Symbol of Peace and is one of the most popular superheroes. He is also a faculty member at U.A. who bestows his Quirk “One For All” upon Deku, after being impressed by his reckless bravery and selflessness.

6. Shota Aizawa / Eraserhead

Another faculty member at U.A., Eraserhead’s Quirk enables him to nullify the Quirks of all those in his line of sight, until he blinks, making him a drastically over-powered character. However, he is grumpy and tired most of the time.

Of course, we’re just scratching the surface here by sticking to those characters connected to U.A.
