The pandemic might have halted production for several Hollywood blockbusters, but things are slowly picking up, and 2022 looks to be a good year for movies. With some upcoming Marvel titles, the sequels to Mission Impossible and the Fantastic Beasts franchises, and even an adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel, here are the movies releasing in 2022 that we are most hyped about.

  1. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

After the Avengers saga, Marvel has set the bar even higher by finally introducing the concept of the Multiverse and then having the Sacred Timeline destroyed, following the events of Loki. Now Doctor Strange has to protect not just his earth from alien threats but from villains from other universes and parallel realities.

  1. Thor: Love and Thunder

With the success of Thor: Ragnarök, New Zealand director Taika Waititi is slated to return to direct the next Thor film. What’s more exciting is that Jane Foster (Thor’s love interest who was written off) is also set to reprise her role and maybe even take on the mantle of Thor.

  1. Mission Impossible 7

Like Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise probably has a secret to slow down aging if the enduring popularity of the Mission Impossible films is anything to go by. The latest installment promises to be similarly action-packed and engaging.

  1. Fantastic Beasts: The Secret of Dumbledore

If the Harry Potter books weren’t enough, J.K. Rowling delivered more content by planning a set of five films that explore the wizards gearing up to face Grindelwald, aka the Big Bad before Voldemort. With plenty of familiar characters and some new faces, this film is sure to cast a spell on viewers.

  1. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Although Chadwick Boseman will be missed, we are super excited for Marvel’s sequel to Black Panther (2018). We hope the film will delve into Wakandan culture and society in more detail and provide a satisfying story.

  1. The Batman

Finally, former Twilight actor Robert Pattinson is all set to step into the role of Batman. While it might be hard to do justice to Nolan’s Batman trilogy, we are interested to see how this film offers a spin on the superhero’s story.

  1. Death on the Nile

Kenneth Brannagh directs and plays the role of the detective Hercule Poirot in this film that is based on one of Agatha Christie’s most suspenseful stories. After all, you can’t go wrong with a good old-fashioned murder mystery.
